- Date: Wednesday 29th June
- Time: 7.00 pm. We should be back for 9.00 pm, and for those who want to join us, there is a decent pub close by.
- Cost: £5 in advance (all proceeds to Erewash Liberal Democrat funds)
Join the Erewash Lib Dems for an evening of history, with a walk to Codnor Castle, one of Derbyshire’s best-kept secrets. With the referendum over by then, we will hopefully not be raising the drawbridge! Okay, the castle is in Amber Valley, but it has a commanding position overlooking the River Erewash, and over into Broxtowe and Ashfield.
It is only a short walk (around 2½ miles), but the walk-leader, local historian Robert Mee, will give explanations as we go. The walk is not difficult, but it is definitely NOT for anyone with mobility problems – there will be a couple of stiles to get over and one short hill to climb. Suitable footwear is needed, especially if there has been rain.
The walk starts from the free car park on Codnor Market Place (DE5 9QY), and overflow parking is available on Mill Lane if necessary.
Numbers are limited to 35 places, so book now to avoid disappointment.
